I read an article this morning that has really upset me. In England, a disabled lady has been hired to be the host of a children's program. Parents are chatting online to complain that she should be removed from the position as she is not a suitable host. This has spurred a debate amongst newspapers, columnists, and bloggers. I'm a supporter of free thought, but I'm disheartened to think that a father actually complained that he was "forced" to have to talk about disabilities with his child! I also have to wonder if using blogs and chat rooms in this way fuels a wave of paranoia?
